Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a Behavior Aide for a full-time, school-based position in Acton, California. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with special education students and helping them succeed academically and socially. The candidate must be CPR/First Aid certified and meet all local and state requirements.
Key Responsibilities: ?? Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with behavioral challenges. ?? Provide one-on-one support to students during classroom activities, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment. ?? Help students develop appropriate social skills and coping strategies. ?? Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to adjust strategies as needed. ?? Support students with special needs in navigating school routines, including transitioning between activities and classes. ?? Utilize de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage challenging behaviors. ?? Provide crisis intervention if necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of the student and others. ?? Maintain detailed documentation of student behavior, interventions, and progress.
Preferred Qualifications: ?? CPR/First Aid certification is mandatory. ?? Experience working with special education students, especially those with behavioral needs, is highly preferred. ?? Knowledge of behavior management strategies and intervention plans. ?? Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. ?? Familiarity with local and state regulations related to special education services.
