Quantitative Risk Analyst Lead - Fair Lending

Overview: Perform advanced data and statistical analysis in support of the creation and maintenance of statistical models, including Regression and Multivariate models. Support the Compliance Risk Management Fair Lending Office in data analysis and model construction. Provide oversight and expertise in the model creation, testing and validation. Develop and integrate model strategy to support business initiatives and regulatory compliance.Primary Responsibilities:Lead Quantitative Analysts in establishing, monitoring, evaluating and interpreting data with a risk management focus with an understanding of business strategy.Mentor and supervise the work of junior team members and assist in the development of their statistical modeling acumen in areas such as segmentation analysis, logistic regression, decision trees and multivariate analysis.Demonstrated working knowledge of Credit Risk databases to provide data and analytical support to Senior Management.Perform data manipulation and analysis using SQL, SAS, R, Python, or an industry recognized Fair Lending Software Analytics program and present results and recommendations to Credit Risk Management.Track portfolio performance and risk strategy results. Incorporate observations and data in to existing models to improve predictive results.Effectively manage analysis timelines to align with, and complete in a timely manner, the Fair Lending Office's annual monitoring plan.Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or another technical discipline,OR in lieu of degree,A combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience to include a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.-OR-Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or another technical discipline, with minimum of 3 years relevant experience,OR in lieu of degree,A combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience to include a minimum of 3 years relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data across large databases.Demonstrated ability to build statistical models to address various business questions.Experience with SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner and other Statistical Software Packages.Advanced Knowledge of SQL, Tableau and Microsoft Office.Banking or Financial Services experience.Ability to utilize analytics in a collaborative manner across business functions and product lines to derive optimum solutions.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts.Excellent presentation and communication skills, including technical writing abilities.Excellent time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.Education and Experience Preferred:Fair Lending Quantitative Risk Analytics and ModelingCompliance Risk AnalysisCredit Analysis experienceM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $97,869.52 - $163,115.87 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role.
