About the position

The Vice President, Specialty Strategy and Growth is a pivotal role within CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy, the fourth-largest specialty pharmacy in the United States. This executive position is responsible for shaping and executing the broad strategy and growth initiatives for the organization. The VP will oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of formulary and clinical strategy programs aimed at enhancing member clinical outcomes. This role also involves pursuing partnerships and strategies that drive growth in prescription volumes and revenue, making it essential for the VP to build strong relationships and networks that broaden access to limited-distribution drugs, thereby increasing the profitability of the Specialty strategy. As the seniormost strategy and growth leader, the Vice President will lead all non-operations aspects of the Specialty Pharmacy, including strategies around access to limited distribution drugs, 340b, pharmaceutical relations, Specialty Pharmacy sales, and contracting. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of CenterWell Pharmacy and CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy, the VP will manage a multi-level organization of approximately 100 associates, including five direct reports. This position offers flexibility in location, allowing candidates to work from anywhere within the lower 48 states without the need for relocation. Key responsibilities include leading best-in-class Specialty Clinical Programs that create value for members, providers, and payors, thereby establishing CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy as a valued partner among all stakeholders. The VP will drive connectivity between the pipeline and manufacturers, develop and execute the overall specialty pharmacy strategy, and collaborate with Humana leadership to ensure an integrated end-to-end specialty pharmacy experience. Additionally, the role involves driving preferred payor agreements, developing a payor-agnostic specialty pharmacy strategy, and pursuing partnership opportunities that highlight the organization??s strengths and value proposition. The VP will also function as a senior advisor to the executive team, providing strategic leadership and making enterprise-scale decisions that impact the P&L of CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

?? Provide strategic leadership to a high-performing team of Pharmacy professionals, focusing on recruitment, development, and retention of talent.

Requirements
?? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
,
?? 10 or more years of experience in the Healthcare Industry and Specialty Pharmacy.
,
?? 8 or more years of management experience in a related field.
,
?? Strong external network in Specialty Pharmacy and Pharma.
,
?? Deep specialty pharmacy experience with a proven record of success in delivering clinical and financial results.
,
?? Experience working with clients and supporting RFPs with Manufacturers and Payors.
,
?? Experience with overarching clinical strategy and/or programs.
,
?? Experience leading sales initiatives in the specialty pharmacy sector.
,
?? Knowledgeable about service delivery in the pharmacy business, understanding the natural tension between operations and strategy.
