Key Responsibilities
?? Deliver in-person care to patients with implanted cardiac devices (CIEDs), including interrogation, evaluation, and programming for various manufacturers like Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik.
?? Identify and address CIED abnormalities, facilitating follow-up care as necessary.
?? Educate patients and their families on post-implant care, device functions, remote monitoring, and essential follow-up procedures.
?? Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure coordination of care and timely service for CIED patients.
?? Act as a knowledgeable resource for device and arrhythmia management for staff members across various departments.
?? Complete comprehensive documentation for CIED assessments, arrhythmia management, and billing purposes under the oversight of the attending physician.
?? Monitor and review CIED remote transmissions and trans-telephonic alerts, adhering to manufacturer advisories and guidelines.
?? Participate in continuing education and provide cross-coverage within the CIED department for satellite facilities.
Required Skills
?? Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in New Mexico.
?? BLS and ACLS certifications.
?? A strong foundation in cardiology is highly valued.
?? Familiarity with CIED management or completion of a recognized CIED program (e.g., ATI or PrepMD).
?? Preferred: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification and LS Certification at time of hire.
Qualifications
?? An Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
?? 1-2 years of experience in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab, or cardiac step-down unit is essential, with 2 years preferred.
?? A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
