About the position

The Transportation Director at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is responsible for overseeing and developing logistics-related procedures and activities, including transportation, food sourcing, and mobile food distribution. The role aims to end hunger and poverty by ensuring the efficient movement of healthy and fairly sourced food to communities in southern Arizona. This position involves strategic decision-making, management oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize service levels and improve supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities
? Coordinate and support supply-chain logistics and strategic cooperation between all CFB work units.

? Partner with warehouse team and resource centers to effectively move food to communities.

? Document planning and project management practices for transparency and improvement.
,
? Provide management oversight and coaching to transportation, mobile food distribution, and food sourcing teams.
,
? Manage budget and fiscal stewardship of logistics activities.
,
? Work cross-functionally to optimize service levels and minimize costs.
,
? Oversee food sourcing activities within the service area.
,
? Participate in strategic and operational planning processes focused on equitable food movement.
,
? Ensure DOT fleet and driver compliance, including recordkeeping requirements.
,
? Ensure drivers follow best practices of warehouse and vehicle operations, including food safety.

? Oversee fleet management and maintain accurate fleet analytics for optimized routing.

Requirements
? Eight to ten years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar role.
,
? Five years of experience leading teams and managing staff.
,
? Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Management, or a related field.
,
? Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

? Arizona Driver's License and clean three-year driving record.

Nice-to-haves
? Master's or professional degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Management, or a related field.

? Experience in nonprofit organizations at staff or Board levels.
,
? Experience in organizational development and management.
,
? Experience working at or partnering with food banks.
,
? Bilingual in English and Spanish.
