The Marketing Data Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing customer data and unearthing actionable insights that create value for HOPE marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will research, collect, analyze, interpret, as well as visualize insights around customer data, behavior, and actions to drive HOPE business value. The position is in the Jackson, MS corporate office, some offices within HOPE's footprint, or available via telecommute
Essential Job Functions:
Work cross-functionally between teams to guide measurement frameworks, data collection strategy, and performance analytics
Support the collection of relevant and reliable data through HOPE channels (in-person, web, and social media)
Conduct general market research as well as competitor research to learn more about overall banking behaviors and customer product trends
Segment HOPE target audiences through market research based on various demographics, behaviors and preferences
Work with HOPE Marketing and Sales teams to understand key performance indicators (conversion rates, customer lifetime value, ROI)
Review marketing budget allocation for paid advertising (TV, Radio, Out of Home, and Digital) and provide data-driven recommendations to maximize investment
Utilize data analysis techniques to evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns and make recommendations on strategies for improving campaign efforts and customer acquisition
Collect customer feedback through survey data, web analytics, or other data collection platforms
Attend project meetings and provide feedback to the team
Prepare and present options, risk, findings, status, and conclusion of new programs from thought, design, and through implementation
Assist in identification of information technology to support new strategy and programs
Support and/or develop predictive modeling to forecast future marketing performance and identify potential customer behavior patterns
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Marketing or a related field 3- 5 years of work experience in marketing research, statistical, or data analysis roles Strong knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Python, R, SQL) Proficiency in Google Analytics or other web analytics tool Experience with Marquis CRM and/or marketing automation platforms
Key Competencies & Skills:
Proven work experience as a marketing data analyst
Experience with multi-touch attribution, analyzing and understanding a customer's journey
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting databases such (SQL, Oracle etc.), use of SQL query language, and programming such as (XML, JavaScript, ETL Frameworks)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Experience using business intelligence and reporting software (such as Tableau, Power BI) as well as PPT, Excel, and other presentation formats
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, and segmentation techniques preferred
Ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex datasets
Ability to administer quality control and process improvements activities such as data cleaning, data coding, and survey design
Effective communication, process building and storytelling skills
Possess strong business acumen with the ability to build relationships with other departments and interact professionally with a diverse group
Ability to manage strict deadlines and multitask
Ability to train and work with end users on understanding reporting systems
