Transcriptionist- Spanish
HireArt is helping its client find transcriptionists to assist with multiple Spanish transcription projects. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality transcription data at a fairly quick and consistent pace, while being able to maintain sharp focus. The ability to maintain confidentiality, collaborate on a team, and communicate effectively is essential in this role.
This assignment is part-time remote with an initial commitment of three (3) months, and the strong possibility of extension. This role is suitable for any candidate living in, and eligible to work in the United States.
- As a Transcriptionist (Spanish), you will:
- Transcribe a variety of audio data which may include different accents, background noise, crosstalk, etc.
- Adhere to strict conventions written in English regarding the type of transcription, identifying speakers, etc.
- Perform basic quality control checks for spelling, formatting, and style guide adherence.
- Native-level fluency in Spanish, ideally in a Caribbean or LATAM dialect
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (C1 or C2 level proficiency preferred)
- 2+ years’ transcription experience in Spanish and the ability to transcribe English content
- Typing speed of 75+ wpm at an accuracy level of 98% or greater
- Ability to consistently transcribe audio to a set weekly quota
- Proficiency in the use of standard transcription software and hardware
- Working knowledge of operating in a Cloud environment, including downloading/uploading and basic data storage/security principles
- Familiarity with the use of Slack and other modes of communication
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience post-editing ASR transcripts
- Familiarity with file encoding
- Knowledge of and ability to use text editors, including working knowledge of shared dictionaries
- Ability to independently enhance audio quality for clarity
- Basic troubleshooting and data entry/spreadsheet skills
- Familiarity with the use of transcription in Machine Learning/AI
Commitment: This is a part-time, 3-month contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via HireArt and available to U.S.-based candidates.
