Job Title: VBA DeveloperWork Location: Portland, ME (Hybrid/Remote)Duration: 6+ month Contract to HireJob Description: The candidate will be working on a long-running proprietary application that involves a deep understanding of legacy tools/technologies. The candidate should be a problem solver and be able to work independently (while having a highly supportive and proficient team they can rely on should they need help).Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work effectively and collaboratively in an agile environment.
  • Actively participate in the review of business requirements.
  • Analyze business/technical problems.
  • Develop estimates for assigned work.
  • Communicate well and work in partnership with our business partners and IT resources.
  • Code highly effective and highly usable solutions, completing tasks accurately and in agreed upon timelines.
  • Follow systems standards, procedures and delivery methodology and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Support production problem resolution.
  • Understand the business processes support by our applications.
  • Continually develop technical and business knowledge & skills.
  • Work professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, vendors and others with whom FullscopeRMS does business.
  • Document systems and processes as needed.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 4+ years previous Microsoft Access/VBA, SQL Server. Preferred experience in SQL Server Integration/Reporting Services (SSIS & SSRS).
  • Strong knowledge of software delivery, processes and tools leveraged in a mature IT environment.
  • Successful agile/scrum experience.
  • Solid knowledge of unit testing and overall delivery process.
  • Creativity, critical, analytical thinking and well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and committed to excellence.
  • Experience working on legacy, long-running, and business-critical applications.
  • The ability to respond to interrupts such production incidents on a routine basis.
  • Database architecture expertise.
  • Prior participation in application modernization efforts.
  • We are seeking an accomplished Software Developer to work on our premier insurance administration and proposal systems.
  • The successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment as a key part of a highly skilled and committed team.
Must Have:
  • Microsoft Access/VBA
  • SQL Server
  • SQL Server Integration / Reporting Services
  • .NET
  • PowerShell
Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with containerized applications (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Familiarity with security software tooling (Snyx, Checkmarx, Wiz).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
