Tutors will utilize the provided curriculum materials and work in collaboration with classroom teachers to deliver instruction and assess student progress. Tutors will maintain accurate and timely attendance and progress monitoring data in accordance with grant requirements. Tutors will provide student progress updates to families via monthly progress reports. This position is contingent upon grant funding and the continuing availability of funds and is expected to last until June 30, 2024. Department Name: Federal Programs Reports to: Accelerating Scholars Program Manager : List, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential and position specific duties/tasks performed by the position. This is not an exhaustive list and employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required. Regular and reliable attendance is an expectation of the job. Essential Duty 1: Provides direct literacy or math instruction to identified students in small group settings of no more than three students per session using provided curriculum materials. Essential Duty 2: Completes required academic progress monitoring assessments with students and logs assessment results in required system(s). Essential Duty 3: Completes all required TN ALL Corps and Accelerating Scholars tutor training modules/courses. Position Specific Responsibility 1: Ensures that students receive the intended amount of tutoring by meeting with students at least twice a week for a minimum of 90 total minutes per week. Position Specific Responsibility 2: Maintains accurate attendance records by marking attendance in MNPS’ online tutoring platform after each tutoring session. Position Specific Responsibility 3: Provides monthly progress updates to families using provided progress reports. Position Specific Responsibility 4: Collaborates with school staff and faculty to assess the needs of children and to determine how best to address those needs. Position Specific Responsibility 5: Participates in educational team meetings, including ongoing professional development and review of progress. Other Responsibilities: Performs other duties or tasks as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities in this job classification. Education and Experience Requirements Education (training/degree): Bachelor’s degree required Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required: N/A Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related experience preferred. Skills Required: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, present information accurately and clearly. · Demonstrate patience, encouragement and understanding when working with students · Must be flexible to meet the needs of the students and the school · Knowledgeable in the use of standard office computer programs and a variety of educational programs · Excellent analytical and organizational skills · Must be able to motivate students using mature judgment, initiative, tact, flexibility and emotional stability General Skills, Responsibilities, Requirements, and Impacts Data Responsibility: Level 1: Copies, transcribes, enters, or posts data or information. Mathematical Requirements: Level 1: May use addition and subtraction in documenting student progress, making change, etc. Communications Requirements: Level 2: Reads routine sentences or instructions; writes routine sentences and completes routine work forms; speaks routine sentences using standard grammar. Complexity of Work: Level 2: Performs semi-routine work following procedures, with occasional problems; requires normal attention for accurate results. Impact of Decisions: Level 3: Makes decisions with moderate impact - affects those in work unit. Equipment Usage (if applicable): N/A Safety of Others: Level 1: Requires no responsibility for the safety and health of others. Meal Deduction – Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction. Auto Meal Deduction Travel – Itinerant non-exempt employees who travel will be using the time clock differently than others and are paid for travel time between work locations. Employee does not or seldom travels Compensatory Time vs. Overtime (Support Non-Exempt Employees only) – Does this department have overtime budgeted, i.e. Maintenance, Transportation, Food Service. If not, employees accrue comp time only. Department can pay overtime when earned Restrictions – Should employee be restricted to punch in and out within 7 minutes of their schedule start and end times?
